Open your hours
The application takes about ten minutes and costs nothing. It tells a coordinator what you hold, where you practice, which population you would teach, and the hours you could give. Nothing here reaches a program until you accept a student.
Your hours are open. A coordinator reads the application today and replies within one business day with what is available in your state and population.
Before you start, six checks
- Your license is active with no restriction, probation or pending action.
- Your national certification matches the population you would precept and is not inside 90 days of lapse.
- Two or more years have passed since your certification date, in that population.
- Your clinic or video practice sees the visit types the course requires.
- You can give a student roughly eight hours a week for a term, or four for a half-block.
- Your practice will sign an affiliation agreement, or already holds one.
If one fails, apply anyway and say which. Some are fixed by time and some by paperwork, and a coordinator would rather tell you which than have you guess. The requirements page explains each rule and its exceptions.
What happens after you press the button
- Day 0
You apply
Ten minutes. Credential, specialty, state, hours, mode, and anything a coordinator should know.
- Day 1
A coordinator replies
Saying what is open for a profile like yours, or naming the one thing to fix first. Then a link to upload four documents.
- Days 2 to 14
Programs verify you
CV, license, certification, practice description. Program relations drafts or confirms the affiliation agreement with your practice.
- Any day
Orientation
Ninety minutes, on your own schedule, before the first student. Not accredited CE; just the things that make week one go like week five.
- Day 15 onward
Cards
Program, course, dates, hours, population, mode. Accept or decline inside 72 hours. Nothing about you is shown until you accept.
What you are not agreeing to
Applying does not commit you to a student, a rate, a program or a start date. Each of those is decided when a card arrives, and every card can be declined. You can set a blackout calendar, cap yourself at one student, restrict yourself to video, or leave the roster, at any time, from your preferences page or by telling your coordinator.
